The Cacaist Manifesto
I. Cacaism rejects purity as a virtue
Sterility is a lie. The world is dirty. So are we.
Art that pretends to be pure, dignified, and detached from the primal functions of the body is dishonest art. Cacaism embraces what is raw, unfiltered, and expelled.
II. Excrement is expression
What we consume, we digest. What we digest, we excrete.
Cacaism sees feces not as waste but as evidence of consumption, transformation, and consequence. It represents what society refuses to acknowledge.
III. We humiliate in order to elevate
Through the lowest we rise.
Cacaism finds beauty in what is rejected. If “high art” stands on a pedestal, we stain the pedestal. If modern culture pretends refinement, we remind it of its stench.
IV. The toilet is the true canvas
Truth happens where performance ends.
Traditional canvases are obsolete. The toilet is the last sanctuary of truth, a place where masks fall and humans confront their reality without performance. Bathroom walls, drains, infrastructure, and scatological metaphors are legitimate artistic spaces.
V. Laughter and disgust are weapons
The giggle and the gag reflex are closer than people think.
Cacaism thrives in the tension between humor and horror, absurdity and revulsion. Through disgust we awaken people. Through laughter we expose what is too serious to say directly.
VI. Cacaism is rebellion
Where culture is constipated, Cacaism is the laxative.
Cacaism is anti-aesthetic, anti-snob, and anti-perfumed. The art world is often constipated with pretension. Cacaism exists to purge what has been overly sanitized, overframed, and falsely elevated.
VII. Shit is universal
What lowers us also unites us.
Feces is the great equalizer. Kings and beggars, artists and bankers, thinkers and fools, no one escapes the call of the intestines. Cacaism rejects elitism because all bodies obey the same laws.
VIII. Nothing is too low for art
No subject is beneath form. No material is beneath meaning.
If marble and gold can become masterpieces, why not manure? If the Renaissance celebrated the human form, Cacaism celebrates the whole cycle of being: consumption, digestion, expulsion, residue. Cacaism rejects all limits imposed on matter, subject, or message. Nothing is too base, too degraded, or too embarrassing to become art.
IX. The stench will set you free
We live in a perfumed world afraid of its own dirt.
Cacaism demands confrontation. Create without fear of offense. Explore without restriction. Accept the grotesque as truth. This is artistic liberation.
Cacaism is here.
Smell it.
Accept it.
Expel it.
